Sea Turtle Migration & Nesting - From
early May through October the sea turtle
comes ashore to dig nests, lay their eggs.
Within a couple of months, hatchlings race
for the sea. Watching these protected species
from a distance is fine, however do not
approach or shine lights at nesting females.
Also do not pick up turtles or disturb
markers or screens over nesting areas.
Donít walk in sensitive dune areas, report
injured turtles to Volusia County Beach
Services and please keep the beaches clean!

early May through October the sea turtle
comes ashore to dig nests, lay their eggs.
Within a couple of months, hatchlings race
for the sea. Watching these protected species
from a distance is fine, however do not
approach or shine lights at nesting females.
Also do not pick up turtles or disturb
markers or screens over nesting areas.
Donít walk in sensitive dune areas, report
injured turtles to Volusia County Beach
Services and please keep the beaches clean!
